Public appointment
In order to be able to distinguish the real experts from other suppliers, German legislation includes public appointment. It certifies that an expert is particularly qualified for a special field. Only specialists with excellent qualifications are publically appointed. This is proven in an examination. The publically appointed expert is then out under the constant supervision of a public appointing body contracted by the state. Moreover, publically appointed experts are also tested on whether they are trustworthy and have personal integrity. Whoever commissions a publically appointed and sworn expert receives security in commercial, legal and private decisions.
Hans-Peter Westermann was publically appointed and sworn by the Hamburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce in the specialist area "valuation of developed and undeveloped properties and the determination of rental value". He is subject to the provisions of the expert order of the Hamburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce. You can view these at www.hk24.de.
The business activities of publically appointed and sworn experts are subject to the provisions of § 36 of the German Trade, Commerce and Industry Regulation Act.
